Position Description

Who You Are: You are a gardening expert. You have a passion for helping others learn and grow. You are willing to help rebuild and plant our garden, and upkeep our greenhouse. You can commit to at least 6 months of volunteering.

What You Will Do: The Gardening Expert:

  • Assess our current garden and greenhouse, and help create a plan for upkeep
  • Help youth and staff plant for the year
  • Teach youth about gardening, and how to care for the garden
  • Occasionally assist with the upkeep of the garden and greenhouse

When:

  • 2-4 hour shifts
  • 1-4x a month (depending on volunteer/intern schedule)
  • Commitment for six months, as consistency is important in our programming.

How: In order to volunteer for this opportunity, you will need to:
  • Be at least 19 years old
  • Submit application and resume
  • Submit to Criminal History Unit background check through DHW and pre-service drug/alcohol screening
  • Complete interview
  • Attend orientation
  • Comply with all Idaho Youth Ranch Volunteer Policies and Procedures
